The Most Transformational Book I Ever Read
Recently, for my English class outside reading assignment, I read Counting By 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan. This book is about a girl who is a bit different than others. The book talks about her life at school and how she doesn't really fit in. You get to see how things are from her perspective and it made me realize that you should really value your friends because they can help you out in the toughest times. In the book, the main character, Willow, loses her parents who cared about her so much. As a result of this, the few true friends that she met took her in. It really transformed me to realize that you should find out who your true friends are because those people will always be there for you. It also made me realize that I should notice when someone is upset and something is wrong and be an upstander, not a bystander. This book also made me realize how privileged I am. Overall, this is a great book and even though it is very sad, I would recommend it and it definitely transformed me.
