Bill of Rights on Mars
Once Mars is colonized, we will need a Bill of Rights to protect the people. Here is the Bill of Rights that I have created for the Martian Colony.
1. The right to oxygen - While living on Mars, you will need oxygen to stay alive so every person should have access to oxygen.
2. The right to fresh water - The way our bodies work, we need water to stay alive so if not everyone has access to water then the colony will fail.
3. Freedom of speech - Everyone should have the right to say what they want without being punished.
4. The right to defend yourself when accused - If someone is accused of a crime, they have the right to say what they can to defend themselves from further prosecution.
5. The right to own a weapon - On Mars, every person has the right to own a weapon in case threatened by another human or an extraterrestrial being.
6. The right to stay on Mars - If someone has been accused of criminal activity, whether proven guilty or not they have the right to stay on Mars.
7. The right to medical assistance - If you are stuck somewhere or are in a critical condition, you have the right to a professional to assist you until you are well.
8. The right to own a spacesuit. Every person on Mars has the right to and must own a spacesuit. This will provide safety and is the only way to breathe outside of the shelters.
9. Right to communication with Earth - Any Martian person has the right to communicate with people back on Earth.
